Release notes 2026.09: there are decisions waiting on you
VSI is now Krans. This note went out in September 2026 under the old name.
VSI now tells you what your venture has to decide, which way it would go, and why. You can argue back. There is a chat too, and it has read everything. Both are live now.
01 / 06 · Positions: what your venture has to decide
VSI reads everything it knows about your venture and pulls out the decisions that are yours to make. Cards marked Needs you are ready for you to decide. Needs data means it will not take a view yet.
What a card says
It opens with what VSI noticed, not a question. “Your product is being reframed by customers from an audit tool to an active protection layer.” Then the decision that follows from it.

Inside a position
Which way VSI would go and why, the sources it used, and three options. Pick one, bet on one with a deadline, or park it.

Argue with it
Ask what would have to be true for the option it turned down. It argues against itself with your own evidence, then hands the question back to you.
How to use it: open Context, pick a category, and click any card.
02 / 06 · Ask your venture anything
The chat has read your calls, deals, signals and documents. Every answer shows what it is based on.
On top of a call
Open it on a call and ask what is blocking the deal. The answer is about that deal, including where the latest call contradicts what VSI had before.

It knows who you are
It knows your name and which venture you are in, so answers are about your deals and your calls. It also remembers what you asked earlier in the conversation.
How to use it: Ask VSI sits at the bottom left of any page, or press Command and 0.
03 / 06 · None of this is guesswork
Everything VSI says comes from your own calls and documents. It keeps what it has learned in one place, called Context, and every claim there carries a score and a source. Context updates every night for every venture now.

How to use it: Context is in the top nav. Overview is the whole picture, the rail splits it by area.
04 / 06 · Threads know where a deal stands
Threads is where your deals live. VSI's read of each one now sits across the top, including a budget line taken from a number the other side said out loud. Lost deals stay in the stage where you lost them, hidden until you ask. Losing at discovery and losing at proposal are two different problems.

How to use it: in Threads, click any card. The show-all toggle brings the lost ones back.
05 / 06 · Sharper all round
If a transcript puts the wrong people on a call, you can now merge or unlink them yourself, right on the call. Names like van der Berg and names with accents come through properly too.
- Sign in with Google, Microsoft or a password
- Playback speed on the call player
- Company pages show their threads beside them
- Calls take their date from the title or filename

06 / 06 · Heads up: we are rebranding
VSI is becoming Krans. A rebrand, not a rebuild. Same team, same product, same idea underneath. New name, new look, over the coming weeks. Everything you have built comes with you. The next release notes will come from Krans.

Krans /krɑns/ is Dutch for a wreath, a circle woven from many stems.
Fixes
- Change a call's date and its thread follows
- Signal summaries read every call on a company, not just the first
- Assigning an owner refreshes the board straight away
- Deleting a company no longer blanks out its threads
